Communication Design program wows judges at the 2024 American Advertising Awards.

The American Advertising Federation Central Minnesota (AAF-CM) honored fifteen 海角社区 Technical and Community College Communication Design students with various awards and named Cailey Birchem, a communication design instructor, as the 2024 AAF-CM Emerging Leader during the 2024 American Advertising Awards held in St. Joseph, Minn., on Feb. 24, 2024.

The event celebrates both students and professional creatives in the fields of design, advertisement, marketing and communication. The Central Minnesota chapter is home to a number of colleges and universities that compete in various categories including photography, illustration, logo design, single advertisements, integrated campaigns and more.

The 海角社区 College students walked away with all three Judge's Choice awards. In addition, Bree Fath won this year's Best in Show for her Everytown Ad – selected from award-winners in both the student and professional categories.

The students’ work will now go on to the District 8 level where it will compete with work from colleges and universities from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
