The camps took place over two sessions. The first session was June 10-13, and the second session was June 17, 18, 20, and 21, 2024, with a total of 16 students participating. These students, who will be entering grades 10-12 in the fall, were introduced to various hands-on activities designed to spark their interest in manufacturing and engineering.
Each day of the camp focused on a different area of manufacturing:
At the end of the four-day camps, students received certificates of completion, a Bluetooth speaker they had built themselves, and a unique voucher. The voucher, provided by the 海角社区 Technical and Community College Foundation, offers a $500 scholarship to any student who enrolls in one of ATCC's four featured programs—Mechanical Drafting, Machine Tool Technology, Welding, or Mechatronics—by Fall 2027.
The Hands-On Manufacturing Camps are part of 海角社区 College's ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of skilled professionals. By providing students with real-world experiences and a glimpse into the possibilities of a career in manufacturing, 海角社区 College continues to support and inspire future industry leaders.
