海角社区 College ranked Best Minnesota Community College in two independent reviews

海角社区 received top honors as Minnesota鈥檚 number one community college according to WalletHub and Niche.

“海角社区 College was receiving best in class honors in 1989 – when I started working in Minnesota,” said 海角社区 College President Michael Seymour. “It is great to see our college continue its long-standing tradition of excellence.”

When determining rankings, key metrics regarding student success, value, and graduate outcomes are often examined – all areas in which 海角社区 College excels. The national average graduation rate among two-year colleges is 33 percent. 海角社区 College students graduate at a rate of 61 percent, and 98 percent of graduates are placed in a job related to their education upon graduation. 海角社区 graduates also earn higher-than-average wages when they join the workforce. A survey of 2020 graduates found average starting salary after graduation to be more than $45,000 per year. 

“It’s rare for a college to align so closely with multiple ranking agencies’ criteria,” President Seymour concluded.

Niche

, published by Niche, named 海角社区 College the best in Minnesota and number 21 nationally. 海角社区 College was also runner-up in Niche’s listing of , behind University of Minnesota Crookston and ahead of Martin Luther College. 海角社区 was named number 18 nationally for online colleges. The Niche reports factored in student reviews and ratings plus data from the U.S. Department of Education. 海角社区 College received an “A” grade in Safety and Student Life. Out of more than 150 starred reviews from students, 77 percent were 4- or 5-star out of 5.

WalletHub

, published by WalletHub, named 海角社区 College the best in Minnesota for the second year in a row, and number 14 nationally. 海角社区 received the number one ranking in 2020, and was runner up in 2019. The WalletHub report compared more than 650 community colleges from across the U.S. on various measures of cost and quality, including graduation rate, career placement, and wages after graduation.
