In 2023, more than 50% of º£½ÇÉçÇø College’s students came from more than 50 miles away, a dramatic increase from prior years.

º£½ÇÉçÇø College leans into pulling from Minnesota’s outdoor enthusiast community through its athletic and student life programs. The college has a competitive trap shooting team, a fishing team, and, in 2024, a competitive archery team.  Student life promotes activities and venues that reflect the college’s work hard, play hard attitude.

The º£½ÇÉçÇø area offers numerous recreational opportunities including hunting, fishing, mountain biking and skiing to name a few. The college provides access to a sporting storage facility where students can safely store their outdoor toys. Students have access to area snowmobile trails right from campus. More and more students are discovering that º£½ÇÉçÇø Technical and Community College is an incredible place to learn and play.

This focus on outdoor recreation attracts students like Caleb Witte, a second-year student in the police training and education program, and Jake Wagner, a business management student. During the fall, both students enjoy their free time goose and bow hunting.

“Attending college in-person needs to be more than just a classroom experience,” said Michael Seymour, the president of º£½ÇÉçÇø College. “Students are looking for a unique quality of life – a place that provides a sense of belonging.”
